OUR MISSION
Climate Collaboratory is a student organization at the University of Washington that aims to connect students across various academic disciplines, to collectively engage with environmental issues. By providing our members with opportunities to think and learn collaboratively, we will foster the creativity and relationships needed to build effective interdisciplinary teams. We strive to go beyond the myopic perspectives, which are developed in the academic siloes we operate in, that neglect certain environmental issues and promote ineffective solutions. Our events and activities facilitate dialogues between students and policymakers, scientists, academics, practitioners, and activists, so that our members can learn from their experiences and life stories. They showcase the importance of communicable expertise, an essential tool to enable broad understanding of complex environmental issues. Leveraging this exposure, our members are better equipped to find their space in our fight to protect our planet.
